HC Deb 06 August 1980 vol 990 cc190-1W
Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the future employment of the staff of new town development corporations wound up or about to be wound up.

Mr. Stanley

All development corporations are known to have a finite life, so this is essentially a matter for the staff themselves. However, some of the staff previously employed by Corby and Stevenage development corporations are now employed by the Commission for the New Towns, which has also offered employment to some of the staff of Harlow development corporation.
