HC Deb 06 August 1980 vol 990 c188W
Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentages of local authority housing starts and completions in England, over the most recent convenient period, were represented by houses in the Cannock Chase district; what were the relevant figures; what steps he has taken to increase the number of housing starts; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Stanley

During the year ended 31 May 1980, Cannock Chase district council started 130 and completed 270 dwellings, representing 0.3 and 0.4 per cent. respectively of all council dwelling starts and completions in England in that period. On the remainder of the hon. Gentleman's question I refer him to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Southampton, Itchen (Mr. Mitchell) on July 30.—[Vol. 989, c. 729.]
