Friend the Prime Minister announced on 29 July the names of seven sites for designation as enterprise zones, including a site in the lower Swansea valley.—[Vol. 989, c. 1312.] Responsibility for designating enterprise zones in Wales falls to me, and I am now discussing with the local authorities concerned the details of the lower Swansea valley proposal.
