Whether they will give an assurance that the present Agriculture and Horticulture Grant Schemes would automatically continue beyond 1st October were the draft Agriculture and Horticulture Grant Regulations 1980 not to come into operation on that date.
§ Lord SANDYSI regret that I cannot give the assurance which is sought. Statutory Instruments numbers 928, 929 and 930, all of which were laid before Parliament on 8th July, are intended to close the Farm and Horticulture Development Scheme, the Horticulture Capital Grant Scheme 1973 and the Farm Capital Grant Scheme 1973 to new applications as from 1st October 1980.
