§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe provision for expenditure on motorways and trunk roads in England in 1980–81 underlying the figures in the recent White Paper on public expenditure (Cmnd. 7481) is £302 million for construction and £91 million on maintenance—at 1979 survey prices. The level of expenditure on local roads will depend on the decisions of local authorities.
