§ Mr. Spellerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the efficiency of sheep dipping and the methods used to check the concentration of dip in the field by the Trading Standards Department prior to ordering a second dipping of the same sheep.
§ Mr. WigginApproved sheep dips for sheep scab are effective if manufacturers' instructions are followed. The Sheep Scab Order 1977 empowers local authority diseases of animals inspectors to take samples of dips and of fleeces to be tested for purposes of enforcing the law.
