HC Deb 21 April 1980 vol 983 c36W
Mr. Knox

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much was offered in rent subsidy to the International Tea Promotion Association by Her Majesty's Government for it to remain in London; and how this compares with the offer from the Dutch Government.

Mr. Wiggin

The International Tea Promotion Association, a tea producer organisation, has only recently been set up. It decided last October to establish its headquarters in Rotterdam where the Dutch Government offered rent-free accommodation for two years. Her Majesty's Government's invitation to consider London as the headquarters of the association was based on the practical advantages of an English-speaking capital with expertise in all matters relating to the tea trade.
