§ Mr. RaisonRecords available to me for England and Wales show 69 persons proceeded against for offences against the Badgers Act 1973 in the period 25 January 1974 (when the Act came into force) to 31 December 1978, 53 of whom were found guilty. A breakdown by area could be provided only at disproportionate cost. Information on the number of such prosecutions pending in England and Wales is not collected centrally. None of the information requested is available for Scotland; the Act is not in force in Northern Ireland.
