However, the number of arrests made by the Royal Ulster Constabulary during the period under the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1978 and the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1976 was 68. The number of arrests made by the Army during the same period was 34.
