§ Mr. Peter WalkerAny figure per head as to the total extra cost of food in the United Kingdom as a result of the CAP depends upon what assumptions are made, and I do not know the assumptions upon which my hon. Friend bases his £35. The estimate of £3.76 per person reflects that part of the additional cost which arises on our net imports of food from the Community and which is not reflected in our contribution to the Community budget.
