asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will make a statement on the appointment of (a) the chairman and (b) the chief executive of British Shipbuilders.

As already announced, Admiral Sir Anthony Griffin has accepted reappointment until the end of June 1980 to enable arrangements for his successor to be completed. The new chairman will be consulted on a successor to the present chief executive.
