§ Dr. BoysonThe position of religious education in the school curriculum is already covered by the Education Acts, and my right hon. and learned Friend has no plans to change this. The consultative paper on a framework for the school curriculum draws attention to the implications of these statutory provisions for local education authorities' responsibilities, and to the role of religious education in schools. Consultations are now in progress on these proposals.
