§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what were the total capital and revenue contributions by central Government towards the costs of the Inner London Education Authority in 1974–75, 1975–76, 1976–77, 1977–78, and 1978–79, and what they will be in the current year and in 1980–81 and if he will show the figures adjusted to allow for inflation.
§ Mr. Mark CarlisleThe Inner London Education Authority is not a rate-raising authority and it receives no rate support128W grant: all of its income, apart from that arising from fees and charges, is obtained by precepting upon the City of London and the 12 inner London boroughs which receive differing apportionments of rate support grant. The proportion of the expenditure of the Inner London Education Authority effectively met by central Government over this period could not be calculated without disproportionate cost.
