HC Deb 28 November 1979 vol 974 c706W
Mr. Alton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much it will cost to implement the EEC direction on frozen goods; what benefit there will be for the customer; what will be the likely effect of frozen food ranges in corner shops; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Wiggin

I understand that the EEC Commission is now preparing a revised draft directive on quick frozen foodstuffs in the light of comments made on an earlier draft by member States, including the United Kingdom. When the revised draft is received, my Department will assess its possible effects in consultation with all interested bodies.
