HC Deb 27 November 1979 vol 974 c625W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, bearing in mind paragraphs 59 and 60 of the third report of the Expenditure Committee—Environment Sub-Committee—of Session 1977–78, he proposes to eliminate any ruling which in certain circumstances would penalise financially national museums and galleries in respect of works allocated to them in satisfaction of capital transfer tax.

Mr. Peter Rees

The recommendations of the Expenditure Committee are under consideration. I have noted the hon. Member's support for them.
