§ Mr. RaisonApplications in respect of 5,121 cases involving 13,861 persons had been received under the Latin American refugee scheme since its inception in 1973 up to 31 October 1979. Of these, entry clearance had been granted in 1,851 cases—4,845 persons; 2,988 persons are known to have arrived in the United Kingdom. 125 cases—279 persons—were outstanding on the same date. Information as to how long these have been under consideration is not readily available.
