HC Deb 12 November 1979 vol 973 c502W
Mr. Marlow

asked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to bring forward legislation for trade union reform, to reduce the amount of taxpayers' money available to sustain strikers and their families, and to control the misuse of the overtime ban and work-to-rule.

Mr. Mayhew

[pursuant to his reply, 8 November 1979, c. 258]: I hope to publish a Bill to amend the law on industrial relations before the Christmas recess. I have no plans to introduce legislation to deal specifically with overtime bans and work-to-rules. As to financial support for strikers and their families, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to him by the Secretary of State for Social Services.—[Vol. 972, c. 44.]
