HC Deb 12 November 1979 vol 973 c473W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he is having with Strathclyde district council about the provision of additional accommodation in homes for the elderly.

Mr. Fairgrieve

The provision by Strathclyde regional council of homes for the elderly is a matter for the council to determine in the light of the provisional allocations for capital expenditure on social work building projects for 1980–81 and advice regarding levels of capital expenditure in 1981–82 and 1982–83 which have recently been conveyed to it.

Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the current waiting list position for homes for the elderly in each of the social work areas in Scotland.

Mr. Fairgrieve

I refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for South Ayrshire (Mr. Foulkes) on 24 October.—[Vol. 972, c.185.]
