§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the present system of oil storage in tanks without retaining walls.
§ Mr. MayhewI have been asked to reply. The chairman of the Health and Safety Commission informs me that he has no reason to believe that the present system of oil storage is unsatisfactory. In cases where a bund wall enclosure is not provided, the nature of the oil and the site conditions should be such that any leakage does not affect the health and safety of persons at work and the general public.
