Mr. Peter Bottomley

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will state the increases in remuneration for hon. Members since pay was introduced and the level of pay at the time of increase, giving the equivalent 1979 purchasing power.

Mr. St. John-Stevas

The information is given in the following table:

(2) what is the policy of Her Majesty's Government in relation to the Royal Aeronautical Establishment (Bedford) and the Royal Aeronautical Establishment (Cardington);

(3) how many staff will continue to operate at the Royal Aeronautical Establishment (Bedford) following the completion of transfers of personnel to Scotland.

Mr. Pattie

There are no plans to disperse any part of the work of the Royal Aircraft Establishments at Bedford or Cardington to Glasgow. Her Majesty's Government's policy is to continue to make the greatest possible use of the resources at these establishments in furtherance of their research and development programmes.
