§ 30. Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Employment what contribution has been made to the work experience programme for young people over the past two years by (a) local government and (b) other public services.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that between March 1977 and March 1979, a total of 116,200 places have been made available to young people under the youth opportunities programme and the former work experience programme, of which local government and other public bodies have provided 11,400–9.8 per cent.—and 6,100 places—5.2 per cent.—respectively.
