§ Mr. Harry EwingThe number of persons arrested and detained in each region in Scotland between 29 November 1974 and 28 February 1979 under the authority of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Acts 1974 and 1976 were:
Strathclyde 136 Tayside 2 Lothian and Borders 14 Dumfries and Galloway 667 Grampian 4 Northern 1 Fife 5 Central 2 Applications for the extension of detention by a further five days were made in 58 cases and none of these applications was refused.
