§ Mr. Golding,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 26 March 1979; Vol. 965, c. 18], gave the following answer:
The information requested is as follows:
(a) Temporary Employment Subsidy and Supplement
The information cannot be provided in the precise form requested. As on 23 March 1979 TES has been paid to 61 establishments in respect of 4,164 jobs at an estimated gross cost of £3.3 million. Of these 22 establishments, involving 1,717 jobs qualified for further assistance under TES supplement at an estimated gross cost of £0.3 million.(b) Small Firms Employment Subsidy
At 28 February 1978 38 small firms in the Blackburn area had successfully applied for Small Firms Employment Subsidy and had provided 198 extra jobs, at an estimated cost of £96,700.(c) Job Release Scheme
500 applications had been approved in Blackburn up to 20 March 1979 since the scheme began, at a cost in the order of £640,000. I regret that information on the number of firms involved is not available.
