§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will give, for the longest and most convenient period of time, the cost of the supply of cars to former Prime Ministers, including all costs, namely, cleaning, petrol, tax, insurance, repairs and drivers.
§ Mr. MarksThe cars are provided from a pool of cars available for use by Ministers and senior civil servants. Individual costs are not kept. The gross average cost of such a car in 1978–79 is estimated to be about £12,800 per annum.
