§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to reply to letters from Mr. J. Watson, a constituent of the hon. Member for Uxbridge concerning the operation of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisI assume the question refers to two requests from the hon. Member's constituent, both seeking a meeting with me to discuss the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 and its application by the London borough of Hillingdon. On my instructions, my officials met the hon. Member's constituent for detailed discussions. They have subsequently had numerous telephone178W conversations with him and at present further inquiries are in progress. In this regard, one of my senior officials will shortly be visiting Hillingdon. He will be available to see the hon. Member's constituent during his visit. I have met Mr. Watson on several occasions over the past year and will be prepared to meet him again as soon as is practicable and if a suitable date can be agreed.
