Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will ensure that the London borough of Greenwich, as the local planning authority, is consulted about the conversion of wards and other facilities at St. Nicholas hospital, Plumstead, for use as offices.

Mr. Moyle

Health authorities have delegated authority to carry out works of adaptation to NHS premises, and consult the local planning authority when necessary.

62(5) of the Act. I expect shortly to receive the report of the Commission which the Act requires to be taken into account in determining whether to make the order.
