HC Deb 12 March 1979 vol 964 cc99-100W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he is taking to ensure that access to legal aid funds, to which litigants and accused persons have established an entitlement, continues to be available.

Mr. Harry Ewing

While industrial action has had some effect on the payment of solicitors' accounts due to lack of computerised information, it is not thought that the delay has had a serious effect on the assistance of litigants under the legal aid scheme.
