HC Deb 07 March 1979 vol 963 c689W
21. Mr. Jessel

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money is contributed annually by rate payers of other London boroughs under the rate equalisation scheme to the London borough of Southwark.

Mr. Shore

There are three rate equalisation schemes which form part of the rate support grant arrangements for London. Under these schemes, Southwark will benefit in 1979–80 by £2,775,000, which is the balance between receipts of £3,102,000 from the central London boroughs and a contribution of £347,000 to the outer London boroughs.
