HC Deb 07 March 1979 vol 963 cc707-8W
Mrs. Bain

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is yet in a position to announce the results of the Scottish Education Department survey on organisation and staffing of primary schools, as outlined in the Houghton report (1974), which was to provide a basis for a review of the promoted post structure in primary schools, particularly in view of his letter of April 1978 to the Educational Institute of Scotland in which he indicated that the analysis of data was to be completed in the near future.

Mr. McElhone

The analysis of the data derived from the survey has been completed and arrangements are being made for a report to be issued later this month.
