HL Deb 06 March 1979 vol 399 cc158-9WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have made an application to the Commission of the EEC in Brussels for assistance for the village of Torcross in Devon; and, if not, whether they will now do so.

Baroness STEDMAN

It is not intended to make any application to the Commission for assistance for the village of Torcross. The Government will pay 75 per cent. of the amount by which the local authority's expenditure on the emergency exceeds the product of a 1p rate.
