asked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether British civil servants are permitted to attend and speak at public or private hearings of the Committees of the European Parliament, should they be invited to appear.

It is for the Minister of the Department concerned to consider on its merits any request from a Committee of the European Parliament for officials to appear before them.
