asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (1) the annual number of decrees absolute of divorce pronounced in England and Wales in 1969 and in each subsequent year for which figures are available;
  2. (2) the percentage increase or decrease after 1969 compared with the previous year;
  3. (3) the percentage increase or decrease compared with 1969;
  4. (4) the average number of children under the age of 16 involved in the divorces in each of the years in question;
  5. (5) the total number of children under the age of 16 involved in the divorces in each of the years in question.

Valley from a single transmitter located at Fronfrys, but problems of site access and of obtaining adequate signals to permit re-broadcasting led them to conclude that their original proposal would not be feasible.

The BBC tell me that arrangements for acquiring sites for two smaller stations at Glynceiriog and Pontfadog are progressing well and that the stations, planned on the basis of providing four UHF television channels, should be ready for service in 1980. The stations should extend UHF service to more of the population in the area than the originally proposed single station and will provide the BBC-Wales, BBC 2 and HTV-Wales services.
