I regret that it is not possible to provide a breakdown by speciality. Comprehensive figures for NHS out-patients are not readily available, but, in the case of the Royal Naval hospitals at Haslar and Plymouth, the figures for 1978 were of the order of 45,000 and 40,000 respectively.
