HC Deb 05 March 1979 vol 963 c465W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how much financial assistance has been offered, and how much has been paid out so far under the microprocessor application project to encourage the use of microprocessors in manufacturing and the microelectronic industrial support programme to further the production of selected components including silicon integrated circuits.

Mr. Les Huckfield

Financial assistance totalling £3.3 million has been approved to date under part C of the microprocessor application project. Payments are related to certain stages of project progress. Since most projects approved have only recently started, actual payments so far have been negligible. Under the microelectronics industry support programme, expenditure amounting to approximately £10 million has been approved and actual payments to date total about £13.3 million.
