HC Deb 05 March 1979 vol 963 cc593-4W
Mr. Dodsworth

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he has any plans for British involvement in developing Mexico's oil and uranium resources; and if he will state the likely financial implications of such involvement.

Dr. Mabon

The development of Mexico's oil and uranium resources is a matter for the Mexican Government. In so far as the Mexican Government might decide to use the services of British companies as part of their programme it would be for these companies to negotiate their own contracts. I do not envisage that such involvement would have any financial implications for Her Majesty's Government.
