Mr. Fitt

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total amount of rent owed by the tenants to the Housing Executive in (a) North Belfast and (b) West Belfast.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total number of applicants seeking Housing Executive accommodation in (a) North Belfast and (b) West Belfast.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he proposes to demolish the unoccupied Housing Executive flats at Ballysillan and Peters Hill.

The future of a number of unoccupied Housing Executive dwellings in Belfast, including these flats, is now being considered. I hope to make a decision in the near future.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many squatters have been taken before the courts for illegal occupation of Housing Executive property in (a) North Belfast and (b) West Belfast.

I am informed that in Housing Executive districts 4, 5 and 6 there have been 28 cases, and in districts 1 and 3 there have been 34 cases. These two groups of districts relate to, but do not correspond exactly with, North Belfast and West Belfast respectively.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what has been the highest price received by the Housing Executive for a private sale.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how he defines the question of need in relation to the sale of Housing Executive property.

Housing Executive houses are offered for sale to sitting tenants in those areas of Northern Ireland where a new applicant coming on to the waiting list would be rehoused in the general area within six months.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many houses have been sold by the Housing Executive to private purchasers in the years 1971 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978.
