§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will give the total estimated contribution made by central Government towards fees at public schools in England and Wales for children of (a) Foreign and Commonwealth Office staff serving abroad and serving at home, (b) civil staff of other Departments serving abroad and serving at home, and (c) officers in the Armed Forces serving abroad and serving at home.
§ Mr. ChannonBoarding school allowance as in the table below was paid to16W the parents of children attending boarding schools in the financial year 1978–79. The figures are total amounts and cover all schools attended in the United Kingdom. Without incurring disproportionate cost it is not possible to give figures for England and Wales only.
