§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister for the Civil Service what is the total annual cost of the salary excesses of the 928 top civil servants receiving salaries in excess of the Ministers whom they serve; and as a means of reducing Government expenditure, if he will reduce all salaries in the Civil Service to the maximum level of the relevant ministerial salaries.
