HC Deb 20 June 1979 vol 968 cc594-5W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if the man aged 66 years at Moss Side Hospital who had been waiting for eight years and four months on 30 November 1978 for a place at the Royal Eastern Counties Hospital is still waiting; if so, why; and what action is being taken to find him a place.

Dr. Vaughan

The man is still waiting but it is expected that a place will become available for him at Bridge hospital, Witham within the next few weeks. The delay in securing this transfer, which I much regret, has been because the local hospital has had to operate a restricted admission policy to reduce overcrowding.
