HC Deb 20 June 1979 vol 968 c606W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made in the development of housing co-operatives by local authorities and housing associations in Scotland since April 1978.

Mr. Rifkind

The Scottish Special Housing Association is establishing two housing co-operatives in Glasgow, and Glasgow district council, which already has a scheme at Summerston, hopes to set up others. Interest in co-operatives has been shown by Clackmannan and West Lothian district councils but proposals there are still at an early and indefinite stage. No new scheme has been launched since April 1978.
