HC Deb 20 June 1979 vol 968 cc598-9W
Mr. Thomas Cox

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the hospitals and the bed occupancy in the Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton area health authority.

Dr. Vaughan

The information is as follows:

number of families currently in receipt of family income supplement in (a) Dundee, (b) the Tayside region, (c) Scotland and (d) Great Britain.

Mrs. Chalker

I regret that the information requested is not available for Dundee and the Tayside region: the smallest areas for which analysis of family income supplement (FIS) statistics are available are the social security administrative regions. It is estimated that, at the end of December 1978, there were 9,900 families in Scotland and 81,000 families in Great Britain in receipt of FIS. These are the most recent figures currently available. They are derived from a routine sample survey and are, therefore, subject to statistical error.
