§ Mr. Adleyasked the Secretary of State for Employment what discussions he has had with nationalised or State-controlled organisations or bodies for which his Department accepts ministerial responsibility, concerning the uncovering and thereafter the elimination of waste; if he welcomes detailed information thereon from the general public; and if, in due course, he will make a statement in the House.
§ Mr. MayhewMy right hon. Friend is seeking to ensure that the promotion of efficiency and elimination of waste is actively pursued wherever he has responsibility, as part of the review outlined by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in her answer to my hon. Friend earlier today. Any suggestions which come to him will be welcome and will of course be considered.
