What is the age of retirement for the following:—

  1. (a) Major-Generals;
  2. (b) Regimental Sergeant-Majors;
  3. (c) Chief Constables;
  4. (d) Ambassadors;
  5. (e) Clerks or Chief Executives of County or Second-tier Authorities.

The Earl of GOWRIE

The normal retirement age for the groups listed are:

  1. (a) For Major-Generals, 55;
  2. (b) For Regimental Sergeant-Majors, after 22 years service or age 55 whichever is earlier;
  3. (c) For Chief Constables, 65;
  4. (d) For Ambassadors, 60;
  5. (e) For Clerks or Chief Executives of County or Second-tier Authorities, 65.
