HC Deb 18 June 1979 vol 968 cc440-1W
Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the total financial support from public funds given in the current financial year to the Nature Conservancy Council, the Countryside Commission and national parks, respectively.

Mr. Monro

Estimates laid before Parliament provide for grant-in-aid to the Nature Conservancy Council of £6,848,000 and for Exchequer support to the Countryside Commission totalling £6,507,000. These amounts are subject to adjustment in the light of pay settlements. Approved local authority expenditure on national parks is £5.7 million, of which £4.3 million is expected to be met by the Exchequer through national parks supplementary grant.
