There is no generally accepted definition of the term quasi-autonomous national governmental organisation. However, the following are the principal bodies for which my right hon. Friend is responsible andd which I think the hon. Member has in mind:

  • Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service Council.
  • Central Arbitration Committee.
  • Certification Office for Trade Unions and Employers' Association.
  • Civil Service Arbitration Tribunal.
  • Health and Safety Commission.
  • Industrial Tribunals.
  • Levy Exemption Referees (Industrial Training).
  • Manpower Service Commission.
  • National Dock Labour Board.
  • Panel to Consider Representations about Licences (Employment Agencies Act 1973)
  • Remploy Limited.
  • Wages Councils.

Industrial training boards as shown below:
