HC Deb 11 June 1979 vol 968 c102W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects a decision to be reached about the future location of the cardiothoracic neurology and neurosurgical units now at the Brook hospital, Woolwich.

Dr. Vaughan

The South-East Thames regional health authority is not expected to reach a decision on the future pattern of cardiothoracic, neurological and neurosurgical provision until the regional medical committee has had an opportunity to consider the conclusions of the London health planning consortium. The consortium has established independent study groups to advise on the provision of these services in the Thames regions and the reports of these study groups are expected to be available later this year.
