HC Deb 27 July 1979 vol 971 c546W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will take urgent steps to deal with the grossly inadequate staffing levels within the National Health Service in Wales, concentrating particularly on methods to deal with the poor recruitment of nurses, both in hospitals and in the community.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

I am not aware that there are grossly inadequate staffing levels in the National Health Service in Wales. Health authorities are responsible for providing health care services and for seeing that they are adequately staffed.
