Mr. Dixon

asked the Secretary of State for Industry, further to the reply to the hon. Member for Jarrow, 24 July 1979, how many tenants the Port of Tyne Authority has contracted to develop on the Jarrow Slake; what type of tenant the authority is asking for; and what help he has given to get tenants to develop there.

Inquiries on this matter should be made directly to the Port of Tyne Authority which is responsible for finding tenants for Jarrow Slake. The Department of Industry is prepared to consider specific proposals for potential tenants for regional assistance.
