asked the Minister of Transport whether he will arrange for the provision of emergency telephone facilities on those new dual carriageway roads which are remote from normal telephone facilities; and if he will give the reasons for his decision.

No. I am afraid that it would be far too expensive.

No. There are many other roads with equally valid claims. We could not justify singling out this one at a time when financial constraints rule out more general provision.
