Mr. Jim Callaghanasked the Minister of Transport how many private car driving examiners are now operating in the country districts of Rochdale and Bury; and how this compares with the number operating in these districts in July 1978.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThere is at present a total of 13 examiners at the driving test centres in Bolton, Rochdale and Bury, compared with 14 in July 1978. An additional examiner is due to be posted to Bury shortly. These examiners conduct tests for candidates from both country and urban districts.
